My husband and I have been raising rabbits for about 12 years. Like a lot of breeders,
we got our start with our children wanting to take a 4 H project. This quickly became a family project as
we (the adults) became interested in raising and showing rabbits after our children attended their first show.
We quickly became so involved, that we soon had more rabbits than we knew what to do with. I.E.
The first year the children wanted to do a meat pen, we were barely able to get enough rabbits from the 2 does for 2 meat
pens. So the next year we decide to even the odds and bred 8 does. Much to our surprise each doe dropped 10 babies
and all survived but one. Imagine our shock !!
Our addiction to rabbits continues even though the children are grown and out of 4 H.
Although the Satins the children had raised were beautiful, I decided that they were too big for me and settled on Netherland
Dwarfs for their variety of colors but most of all their size. Next came the Hollands and now the Lionheads.
